We are working on identifying the main idea of a story. Once we have figured out the author's message or the lesson learned, we support our idea with at least three supporting details. Supporting details always relate back to the main idea by using similar language. If the main idea is about being courageous even when you are feeling scared, we would use the words scared and courage again in each supporting detail.
