Adaptations

Monday, we talked about animal adaptations.  An adaptation is a unique characteristic that allows an animal to protect itself or makes work easier.  We talked about how prey usually have adaptations that protect them from danger.  An example of this is a baby seal.  Baby seals are not as active as their parents.  Their white coat protects them from predators such as killer whales, as they are able to blend in to the snow.  We also talked about how predators usually have an adaptation that allows them to hunt better.  An example of this is a cat.  Cats have long tails that allow them to stay balanced when they are chasing their prey.
